If people want Names, they can have Names. That is, people can submit to the ideas which Names and Faces help aestheticise in the institutionalised name of Art, which then, somehow, makes these names magical. But what is this magic if not an institutional move? And what is this institutional move if not self protection? Names limit action. Names are power or malediction, but only the power or malediction of institutions and standards. Why not see the common denominator between McCarthyism and our kneeling before the magic of Names? In one sense every Name is an index of a failed revolution.
